The Boring Company is not as advanced as Tesla, but it has ambitious plans. In a video of the company’s progress, Musk said he expects the system to reach speeds of 240 km/h charging only $1 per passenger. The tunnels would accommodate vehicles with space for up to 16 people and would connect to the surface through an opening the size of a car’s space. The video below shows what the company intends to develop:-

The Boring system will feature something around a thousand small stations that will help people move around the city with their collective vehicles. Musk said that transporting individual cars into the system will be in a more advanced stage. According to him, the system will still offer the service, “but only after all the needs of mass transit are met. It is a question of courtesy and justice. If someone can not afford a car, they should go first.”

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) March 9, 2019 The biggest problem for the Boring Company is the speed with which the tunnels are excavated. Today, the company can only take 4 meters of land per hour. Musk has plans to raise that number to at least 40 meters. In the ideal scenario, the executive intends to excavate 400 meters per hour. What still stalls the work is the need to stop the drilling to reinforce the tunnels, in addition to the work of removing all the dirt. For Musk, it was still a joke to say that “even a sneer mocks the company with its speed”.
